Run on the Tanana and Yukon Rivers, traveling hundreds of miles of the vast Alaskan wilderness. The Yukon 800 is billed as the world's longest, roughest, and toughest speed boat race and the Fairbanks Outboard Association's most well-known race. Competitors build the low-slung 24-foot-long boats from scratch. These race boats are powered by 50 horsepower regulation engines that reach over 70 miles per hour. An annual June event in Alaska's Interior since the late 1960s, and in 2021, the Yukon 800 was inducted into the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame.
