Back in the day, circa 1986, it was desktop publishing. We fielded many calls from local enthusiasts and numerous, “We’re in town and tired of being tourists! Is there any racing going on?” We’d send them to Capitol Speedway, Twin Cities, and the Drag Strip at now Alaska Raceway Park; we did not have the oval at that time! It was out to an autocross or car show for sports car folk, yet they were always interested in the racing side too!
In 2009 we started some online work, yet in 2011 we made the jump. Financially it made sense and undoubtedly manpower-wise. In thirty-six years of doing this, many are still in awe of the motorsport activities across Alaska, from Kodiak to Fairbanks and Valdez in the winter!
Thank you for joining us on the adventure, and we appreciate your sending in events for the calendar. We hope organizers send standings and write-ups, with photos, post-event, too! We cannot attend all events, yet we will strive to make sure Alaska’s motorsport enthusiasts and visitors know where they can head to take in the activities!
